DescriptionThe purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the changes that occurred in the Catholic liturgy either by the council fathers or by over-zealous liturgists who ignored the decree of Vatican II and chose to interpret the Vatican’s directives in their own way. I will examine the various parts of the mass before and after Vatican II. I will visit a traditional mass (pre-Vatican II) to determine its usefulness in today’s world. I will look at past traditions swept aside post Vatican II and determine if these traditions still hold value to Catholic’s today.
